My boss knows my situation as an x-JW. He also knows I’m an atheist. He tells me I’m going to hell unless I accept Jesus back in my heart. He ribs me and I do the same back about his beliefs. Some, like my boss, can give and take criticism. Some can’t. Religion, for the most part, makes people nutty.

i can think of a number like this, still a minority fortunately, in that most of the ones i watched grow up either left or did not embrace the thing anywhere near 100%.. but those one-hundred-percenter kids are something to behold !.
I don’t know about everyone else here, but those kids made up maybe 10 to 20 % of the “young ones” in the halls I went to. While I was growing up, they were the ones that were rarely invited to the “normal” “cool” kid’s activities. They do make for a good laugh though.
I agree with Syme, that it is most likely biology, not just the cult upbringing.... but it certainly doesn’t help.

Damn, I was reading those thinking of my mom and sister:
1- Nope, they have maybe 10% courage to do this
2- None, 0% of this for them
3- Maybe, about a 50/50 chance of this
4- No, 1-2% chance of this
I wish I lived closer so I could drop subtle facts about the cult, but then I risk them never talking to me again. Oh well, why ruin a perfectly sane delusion?

i think i have deprogrammed pretty quick so far compared to many with all their loved ones in.
i am enjoying meeting up with posters off the board and fbing some too.
Not so much creepy, just some mean nasty turds to scared to say how they really feel in an open forum. If you disagree with someone, ignore it or call them out on the board. Why be so passive aggressive in a PM?
